Graphics International Award and other Events

Restaurant in Venice are always been as cultural centres where artists created their own movement. Since 1986 Do Forni Restaurant has been bringing back to use the “Restaurants of Art” tradition by establishing the Graphics International Award. Every year, in December, during a ceremony inside the Do Forni two artists are awarded among twenty artists invited from Italy and all over the world.

The second edition of the Graphics International Award in 1987 took place also in Brazil, at the Auditorium of Sao Paulo, important city famous for its Modern Art Museum and its prestigious Biennale.

In the last edition of the Award, in 2003, the prizes were given to Sandro Chia (Italy) and Igor Mitoraj (Poland), two artists worthy of note, as those who have been awarded in the past.

In a room of the Restaurant are exhibited all the works of the winner artists of the Graphics International Award Do Forni.

In Venice the year 1998 celebrated Casanova


Do Forni Restaurant has celebrated the second centenary of the death of Casanova by creating a menu and new recipes inspired by the time of the great Venetian adventurer and man of letters.

All the dishes and recipes mentioned in the publication derived from original recipe-books dated back XVIII century and are full of information regarding the cultural and gastronomic traditions of Venice in those times. The courses have been offer to our guests during the numerous manifestations Do Forni organized in Venice that year.
